Gijs Van Vaerenbergh receive the ULTIMA award + book presentation

The architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh (Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh) was awarded with the Flemish Culture Prize ULTIMA in the category Architecture / Design! The jury praises Gijs Van Vaerenbergh as they ‘understand the art of translating conceptual power in a restrained but grand manner into a timeless aesthetic experience that captivates young and old, seekers, connoisseurs and random passersby’.

Gijs Van Vaerenbergh is the art and architecture practice of Arnout Van Vaerenbergh (1983, Leuven) and Pieterjan Gijs (1983, Leuven). The collective has existed since 2007 and builds, in addition to architectural projects, artistic interventions, installations and sculptures. Both architects teach: Pieterjan at UGent, Arnout at KU Leuven.

Their first book CROSS SECTION, the first edition of the new series Architecture Monogram, will be presented on March 4th, 3 pm at Copyright Bookshop in Antwerp.
