IGNACIO GALAN receives Van Hove award 2016, VYTAUTAS LELYS receives an honorable mention

On November 23, the ‘Van Hove Prijs 2016’ was awarded to Ignacio Galan, graduated in the International Master of Architecture (‘Bringing Back the Dok: Industry and public space in symbiosis. Merksem case.’)
An honorable mention went to Vytautas Lelys, also graduated in the International Master of Architecture (‘Somos el Cerro!‘) and Ruth Poppe, graduated in the Master Architectuur (‘Graz House’).

In 1982, the UPA-BUA organized the Van Hove award (which is named after the president-founder) for the first time. The prize is awarded to a graduating design and is open to all students who obtain a degree in architecture or architecture-engineering at a Belgian faculty of architecture, during the academic year of the price.

A jury composed of Belgian and foreign architects selects twenty designs and gives an award with a value of 3.000 €. Between maximum four reports an amount of 2.000, – € divided.
